Welcome to Episode 10! Paul, Nate and Tim dive into what they think discuss comedy in anime and great examples of it. They cover comedic timing, OP characters and great examples of the comedy that stems from them and Tim gives a glowing review of a show that just got a new OVA! On the topic of news, the return of Haruhi Suzumiya after 9 years and the Oresuki OVA are a few highlights!
We’re still starting this episode by switching up the regular format just a bit and have the topic discussion up front for you all. We break down what we think defines well placed comedy and how it’s best implemented! We touch on the use of OP characters for comedic relief, subversion tactics, comedic timing and 4th wall breaks/nods to anime tropes. In the second half of the episode we talk shortly about the current state of Fire Force and call back to Episode 5’s discussion on Ogun, talk about this week’s episode of Rent-A-Girlfriend and close it out talking about RE:Zero and its latest episode.
Thanks for taking this journey with us!
